Pricing

How is the price calculated?

Price is based on material volume, print time, and shipping distance. We calculate it instantly when you upload your STL file. The minimum order price is €9.50, shipping included.

What's the minimum order price?

€9.50 for domestic orders (maker in your country). Cross-border EU orders also start at €9.50. The price includes printing, packaging, and shipping.

Are there hidden fees?

No. The price shown at checkout is the total price. Printing, packaging, shipping label, and tracking are all included. No customs fees within the EU.

Can I get a discount for bulk orders?

Currently each part is priced individually. For large orders, upload each file separately. Volume discounts are planned for a future update.

Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are delivered in 3–5 business days from payment. This includes 1–2 days for printing and 1–3 days for shipping. Cross-border EU deliveries may take 1–2 days longer.

Which carriers do you use?

We use national postal services and parcel carriers across the EU. The shipping label is generated automatically — your maker just drops the package off.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once shipped, you'll receive a tracking number by email. You can also track your order in real time from your dashboard.

Do you deliver outside the EU?

Not currently. KlarFAB operates within EU member states only. We plan to expand to the UK and Switzerland in the future.

Files & Design

What file formats are supported?

We accept STL files (binary and ASCII). Maximum file size is 100 MB. The file must be a valid 3D model — we check for manifold (watertight) geometry during upload.

My model isn't watertight. Can you still print it?

We'll flag non-manifold geometry during upload. Minor issues can often be printed anyway, but results may vary. We recommend fixing your model in Meshmixer (free) before uploading.

What's the maximum print size?

Depends on the maker's printer. Most makers have a build volume of at least 220×220×250 mm. We'll only match your order to makers whose printers can fit your model.

Can you help me design a part?

We're a printing marketplace, not a design service. You'll need to provide a ready-to-print STL file. For design help, try communities like r/3Dprintmything or freelance designers on Fiverr.

Makers

Who are the makers?

Makers are verified individuals across the EU who own FDM 3D printers. They print your order at home using their own equipment. Each maker passes identity verification and connects a Stripe account for payouts.

How are makers verified?

Makers complete a 3-step onboarding: profile setup, printer registration (we verify the model), and Stripe account connection. They build a reliability score based on completed jobs and customer ratings.

Can I choose my maker?

Not currently — we automatically match your order to the best available maker based on location, capacity, materials, and reliability score. This ensures fast delivery.

Refunds & Disputes

What's your refund policy?

Full refund if the print quality doesn't meet expectations, wrong material was used, the item was damaged in shipping, or the part was printed incorrectly. Submit a dispute within 7 days of delivery with photos.

How do I open a dispute?

Go to your order detail page in the dashboard and click 'Open dispute'. Upload photos showing the issue, select a reason, and describe the problem. We review disputes within 1–2 business days.

What if no maker accepts my order?

If no maker accepts within 24 hours, we automatically refund you in full. This is rare — we have makers across the EU.

Privacy & Legal

How is my data handled?

We encrypt all personal data (name, email, address) at rest. Makers see only the shipping label — not your email or account details. We follow GDPR requirements.

Can I export my data?

Yes — contact support and we'll provide a full export of your data within 30 days, as required by GDPR.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — go to Account settings and click 'Delete my account'. This permanently removes your data. Active orders must be completed or cancelled first.
