PLA FAQ

Is PLA food-safe?

PLA itself is derived from plant starch, but FDM-printed PLA is not food-safe due to layer lines harboring bacteria and potential nozzle contaminants. Use food-safe coatings if needed.

What infill should I use for PLA?

15-20% for decorative items, 40-60% for functional parts, 80-100% for maximum strength. We default to 20% (normal preset).

How durable is PLA?

PLA is rigid and strong but brittle under impact. It's not suitable for parts that flex repeatedly or experience high temperatures above 60°C.
